long-standing experience in the gas transport sector.

OPAL Gastransport GmbH & Co. KG is the network operator of the Baltic Sea Pipeline Link (OPAL, for short) and responsible for transporting the natural gas safely and reliably on OPAL from the landfall point of the Nord Stream Baltic Pipeline in Lubmin near Greifswald to the end point of the OPAL near Brandov (CZ) on the German-Czech border. In collaboration with our partners, we are contributing to further strengthening of the security of the natural gas supply.

OPAL is a joint project between W & G Transport Holding GmbH (WGTH) and Lubmin-Brandov Gastransport GmbH (LBTG). It was implemented as part of a community of part owners, with co-ownership interests of 80 percent for WGTH and 20 percent for LBTG. The WGTH interests are leased by OPAL Gastransport GmbH & Co. KG. OPAL Gastransport GmbH & Co. KG is the technical operator of the entire pipeline. The transmission system operator is a subsidiary of WGTH, in which, in turn, WIGA Transport Beteiligungs GmbH & Co KG has 100 percent interests.
