1. Which information does OPAL Gastransport collect when you visit this website?

(1) If you visit our website for information purposes (you are not registered or making contact), the following information is automatically transmitted by your browser to our server:

2. To what extent does OPAL Gastransport process this data and for which purposes?

(1) When you visit the OPAL Gastransport website, we use the IP address and the other data that is automatically transmitted by your browser to our servers, listed under Clause 1 (1), in order to 

  • Provide you with the content requested. For this purpose, we store your full IP address only for as long as it is technically necessary to display the page requested.
  • Protect ourselves from attacks and to ensure that our website operates properly. For this purpose, we store the data in question temporarily and in a manner that is protected from access for a maximum of 180 days. Exceptions to deletion after a maximum of 180 days are data regarding access which is required for tracing attacks and faults.
  • OPAL Gastransport shall only try to find out the person behind an IP address in the event of illegal attacks. 

(2) We store the IP address of your computer after we have shortened it by the final octet – therefore, in an anonymised form – to analyse the usage behaviour of visitors to our website in order to improve our website. The shortening of IP addresses for this purpose takes place directly after collection. Therefore, we do not record any personal information regarding how you use our website.

(3) If you contact us using a contact form on our website or by email, we shall use the personal data listed under Clause 1 (2) to respond to your enquiry and to resolve it as best we can. This personal data is stored for as long as it is required to respond to your enquiry and to resolve it.

When you visit our website, the information listed in Clause 1 (1) is automatically transmitted to our server by your browser. The transmission of this information is voluntary. Without the provision of this personal data, we cannot display the requested page to you.

If we receive a complaint, we shall contact the person who filed the complaint in order to follow up on the complaint. If we cannot directly resolve a complaint, we shall work with the authorities, especially the data protection authorities, if required.

11. Data protection for minors

This website is aimed at persons who are at least 18 years old. We do not want to collect the personal data of persons under 18 years of age.
