Access to the OPAL Gastransport long-distance pipeline network is subdivided into two capacity areas.

Exempt capacity area (Transit)

Coupled connection capacities: These are entry capacities subject to allocation restrictions at the Greifswald entry point and exit capacities subject to allocation restrictions at the Brandov exit point which are offered in coupled form ("coupled connection capacities"). In accordance with the rulings of the German Federal Network Agency dated 25 February 2009 and 07 July 2009, the coupled connection capacities are exempt from the network access and network fee regulations pursuant to §§ 20 to 25 of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG).

In our Download section you will find an overview for the Terms of Use for the exempt capacity area (Transit).

Regulated capacity area

The regulated capacity area covers all capacity products to which the regulatory provisions for long-distance pipeline network operators in Germany apply unrestrictedly ("regulated capacities").

The entry/exit system of OPAL Gastransport GmbH allows customers to book or request individual capacity rights at entry and exit points separately. The entry and exit points are assigned to the GASPOOL Balancing Services GmbH market area. For a detailed description of Entry/Exit Points and capacity products, please refer to our Terms and Conditions of OPAL Gastransport GmbH & Co. KG. in our download section.

Interruptible Transports

If on occasion we are unable to offer fixed capacities, interruptible capacities may provide an alternative. We will of course notify you of the interruption as early as possible, generally no less than three hours before it starts. If you can live with this kind flexibility, you will benefit from more favorable terms.

Individual transport periods

The basic fee is based on the desired transport period. The period of a gas year is used as the basis for calculating fees. Irrespective of this, longer or shorter transport periods are also possible.
